Our Lady of Guadalupe — Patroness of the Americas
Handcrafted on a solid wood panel, this devotional artwork beautifully depicts the sacred story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The image captures the miraculous moment when Juan Diego — now a canonized Saint — opens his cloak before the Bishop, revealing a cascade of Castile roses and the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary.
This beloved story dates to December 9, 1531, when Juan Diego first encountered the dark-skinned Virgin Mary on Tepeyac Hill, the former site of an Aztec temple. She asked him to tell the Bishop to build a church in Her honor, as a place of comfort and protection for the weak and vulnerable. On December 12th, Her image appeared miraculously on Juan Diego's cloak — a moment celebrated throughout Mexico every year.
Hand painted by skilled artisans, each piece is a unique expression of faith and cultural heritage. Custom sizes available.
